Please read about lake health below!
Way back in 1951 Dr. Jim and June Kelly began renting at Coppersmith Lodge and continued to do so for 20 years when, to our surprise, Jim bought it on contract for deed because the eight kids "needed a place to work." And work we did. We cleaned, mowed, painted and put docks in and out every year until we all got full time jobs after college. Dad decided to hand it over to all eight of us and we bought each other out until it is now owed by Pat, Kate and Rose Kelly. We are happy to still provide the three gorgeously maintained cabins as they were originally built with modern updates like new electrical, plumbing, and appliances. In the picture you can see why the frame cabin is still called the "white" cabin.
Renters can find many things to love about Coppersmith Lodge. Some love the Heartland Bike Trail that is less than a mile from our front door. Others like the hammock swings in the shade under the covered patio for reading, watching kids play on the beach, or quiet naps to loon calls. Some love the action of beach volleyball, the hard sand swimming beach with nary a weed in sight. Many love some of the cleanest water in the state and great fishing in our huge lake. We all love the fire pit, s'mores, Weber grills, the gorgeous sunsets, occasional northern lights, blue herons, loons and eagles.
Our three cabin resort is perfect for small family groups.
The Log and Frame cabins are similar. They both have two bedrooms. One bedroom in both cabins has two double beds and a heavy divider. The second room in the Log has a double bed and the Frame cabin's second room holds a queen bed. The only bath is attached to the main bedroom. Each has a trundle bed in the living room. They are best suited for no more than 6 people but can sleep 8.
The upstairs Lodge Cabin has two separate queen bedrooms with a bath in the hall. It also has a queen pull out sofa and a trundle bed in the porch. It is best suited for 4-6 people but can sleep 7. All are close to the lake with a gentle slope to the beach.
